The School Day
The school day begins at 9.00am and finishes at 3.30pm. Doors open at 8.30 with access to the class rooms provided at 8.40. After-School Clubs run from 3.40 – 4.40pm and After School Care continues until 5.00pm.
The lessons (or presentations of work) take place routinely throughout the day, according to each teacher’s planning schedule with specialist subjects timetabled in between. Break times are decided between the children and their teachers and snack is freely chosen (only once and not too close to lunch!) and prepared by the children themselves.
Children can choose to bring a packed lunch or enjoy a hot lunch lunch they have pre-ordered at home and which is delivered to the school by our healthy school caterer ‘Crumbs’.

For us to show that each child is valued we personally greet and dismiss each pupil every day. Sometimes it is the perfect opportunity to communicate a special encouragement or check that the child is happy and thriving. This formal greeting is an important aspect of our practice and is also a wonderful opportunity for staff (usually, the Headteacher) to chat informally to parents and carers.
Below you can access a copy of the latest school timetable. Only the specialist subjects (taught by specialist staff) are shown. The blank sections denote class time where each class teacher will plan to deliver the core subjects. Language and mathematics is usually represented daily, science twice a week, Geography and History weekly. This allocation represents the actual presentation of lesson and not the follow up activities which often continue throughout the week.
