Friends of Meadowbrook

Welcome to ‘Friends of Meadowbrook Montessori’ or FoMM, the schools parent group.

Friends of Meadowbrook Montessori is a member of PTA UK, the largest parent/teacher organisation in the UK, benefitting from their substantial support and resources. Our main objective is to bring the school together as an active community in the support of our children here at Meadowbrook, and to raise funds ‘for the nice to haves’ for the children. Because we are a ‘Friends of’ group, we are able to seek support from the wider local community enhancing our capacity to fund raise.

Later this summer we will be submitting an application to the Charities Commission using a pre-approved model constitution. Once approved, Friends of Meadowbrook Montessori will further benefit from initiatives such as Gift Aid and Match Funding. During the school year, there are two main events planned; the Summer Fete and the Christmas Fair, interspersed with other fun fund raising activities that the children and their families can participate it and enjoy.

Each year group has its own class representative, who liaises between our parents, the Friends of Meadowbrook Montessori committee, and the teachers. Our childrens input is also sought through weekly community meetings. This ensures good lines of communication which serve as a conduit for ideas and suggestions and is inclusive of the whole school community.

Our class representative’s take an active part in the welcoming of new parents and children to the school, engaging with families and offering support to settle in to their new environment. A warm welcome is ensured to our new Meadowbrook families. Meadowbrook is a very unique and special school, as its very wide catchment area bears testament to. Kind regards
